So I did it again!
Another day down! Spoilers ahead. OMG it turned out really long.
It was really hot today. The line to get the goods was still insanely long. Turns out they sold out of bath towels yesterday. Glad I got one when I did.
My friend was with me today, so she enjoyed the concert for the first time. The concert started as before, flying across the stadium. I was watching the area where I knew they would come from, but I couldn't spot them until they rose up.
It was just as great watching everything a second time. Lots of stuff changed too. But there was still lots of peace signs from Leader, goofy dancing from Sho, skipping around from Aiba, blown kisses from Jun, and smiles from Nino.
Today during "Kokoro Chirari", Jun plopped down on the platform he was riding on. He did that a few other times during other songs. Towards the end in "Happiness", he laid down on the stage too.
Aiba's solo "Pikanchi" today was more impressive to me. It starts with a bunch of Juniors marching out with drums and flags and he swang out again on the wire, but he did a hop jump when he got off (almost fell over). It was like a drum line with some "precise" dancing(Aiba looked great). The base beat is really strong too. Can't wait to hear it on the DVD.
Nino didn't screw up his solo today. I was listening closely, but he pulled it off. Nino's guitar was still very awesome.
A couple of times they stopped and let the audience sing parts. Nino stopped during "Hitomi no Naka" and we joined in.
Ohno's "Kumori" was still as adorable as ever in his uniform, but at the end he bowed low. They guys came out in their pink suits after that, but Ohno took a bit to change after his solo, so Jun helped out on Ohno's parts. There was a little Juntoshi moment when he made it out. It took Ohno less time to change today too.
The MC today was also very fun. They started talking about the weather, wondering if it was going to rain, and then Jun proceeded to give a fairly precise forecast, completely with percentages. Sho asked us if we brought raincoats and Aiba mentioned he'd prefer the weather forecast to be wrong. And they looked up at the sky for a bit. They were joking around about something and Sho said to Aiba in a warning tone "Masaki" and he replied with a cute "Sumimasen Deshita" (I'm sorry). Then they started picking on Aiba tonight. They said he made a mistake with the lyrics, something about "Namida Chorori". Sho talked about the guests that had come to Arashi's concert and somehow they gravitated to talking about how Aiba greets different people. (Like Shimura Ken, he would say "Oh! Ken!" or to Sakamoto, "Yo Sakamoto-chan") Then they talked about Aiba, Nino, Matsuoka, and Yokoda (?) going out for a meal and Nino doing magic the whole time. Nino asked what they talked about and he said "To tell the truth, I don't remember".
Then they asked Jun what sempai he gets along with. He said he went surfing with Yamaguchi-kun and Katsu(mura?). Nino started talking about a dinner he'd gone to with Jun, Domoto, (and a three others), but before he could really get started on what happened, Aiba had wondered off (in search of water). He'd wondered around the stage edge for a minute and when he came back, Nino got distracted by him. Aiba took a big gulp (and everyone's attention) and the other four members followed him around the stage (in a playful threatening manor) and Aiba panicked, said "Arashi's five people right?" Then Sho grabbed a water bottle and sucked it hard enough it crunched together.
Nino then tried to go back to the story, saying that while everyone else was chatting, him and Yamaguchi met eyes, thinking "This conversation is boring." So they came up with the idea to drink a shot of tequila every time someone entered the bar. Turns out 7 people came in in 30 minutes. They were very drunk and Nino said Jun likes to hug when he gets like that. But Ohno threw in the random comment "No, it's holding hands." They all turned to him and asked for clarification. He said either hand or fingers (meaning holding hands with only one finger). Then they mentioned Nishikido and a nickname some of them used for him, Ishikino. (Not sure if that's true)
Then everyone abandoned Aiba on stage to talk about his drama. Aiba watched them go, really confused, saying "You're leaving me alone?" So he started to explain "My Girl", saying his role and that his girlfriend had died, but he found out there was a child. Right then, Nino popped back out on stage and Aiba yelled at him "Timing, timing" (Nino's timing was pretty bad) Nino started rapid shooting questions to Aiba about his drama and said "Which station is it showing on, Chiba Terebi?" Aiba yelled at him "Don't make fun of Chiba!", to which Nino denied "I didn't! Eeeeh?! I didn't!" (His eeeh? was really drawn out) Jun and Ohno came back and pretended like it was the first time they'd heard of Aiba having a drama. Ohno's "Really?" was really cute. Aiba sorta ordered Jun to watch "My Girl" and he seemed surprised at Aiba's "Watch it!" (playfully though), but said he would. They sorta mentioned Nino's upcoming drama too, but Nino went right back to teasing Aiba about "Chiba Terebi".
The talk turned to Ohno, asking where he'd been fishing recently, which Nino had to ask "Chiba Sea?" Ohno said he didn't have any special plans for fishing, but that he wanted to catch maguro. They asked if Ohno got a sunburn today (from rehearsal), and he said he didn't think so, but that it was really hot and somehow the heat that radiated from the stage would have done the burning (which no one really understood). Jun said "Ohno, you're getting whiter." Jun even got an email from a friend about Ohno's tan (from what I could understand). Then they said, in pink (their bright pink suits) the tan isn't so bad. They all looked at Ohno, kinda inspecting, along with the rest of the audience. Ohno just looked around at everyone staring at him and gave a sweet, cute smile.
There was something else I missed that Jun teased Aiba about, but Aiba started shouting in his usual "Don't say that in front of all these people" voice. Then Jun laughed as Aiba yelled across the stage at him without the mic. It was very funny!
Then Aiba shouted "Let's go, Sakurai Sho" and Sho's solo started. I still really like his version of Tomadoinagara. There were some Juniors dancing with him (with basketballs for the beginning of the song), and Sho did a great job of his dancing too.
Jun pulled off his solo next, just as nicely as last night. The jazz version has two parts to it. The first part is somewhat faster, then he pauses and it goes a little slower.
He ran off stage to get changed, and the next song started, which was "Attack it!" (or aka "We make storm" by me). The lyrics I read really were different than what some people had put online. During the chorus they say "Five fight move", then "Five live move" and a few others I'll check with later. Jun was still missing for his part in the song though.
Then "Truth" started up. I'm pleased to say everyone flew tonight! Sho looked great, but maybe a little worried.
"Ashita no Kioku" was still sweet. The baby pics are sooo~ cute. Ohno made some great faces when he was younger. There was also Aiba's famous half naked pic.
This time I noticed that they flowed right into the Arashi Time Line. They showed a lot of clips and pics from their debut and on. Stuff from Hawaii was show. The guys narrated each part (from a recording). Jun talked about their first concert and asked, "I wonder if those people are still watching us now." 2004 showed Aiba starting Shimura Doubutsuen with a clip of a tiger attacking his butt and him shouting "itai". Also them doing 24 hr charity event and them crying. 2005, the moving stage was born and Jun did HYD. 2006 was Sho talking about their first Asia tour, Nino going to hollywood, and him becoming a newscaster. 2007, Nino said they went to Tokyo Dome and he starred with Sho in Yamada Taro. 2008, Ohno mentioned his art exhibition and starring in Maou. 2009, Sho said the five of us are here now.
And that's where the medley starts. Beginning with those awesome clear suits. Ohno thankfully ran over to my area and then skipped back to middle stage. Aiba shook his hips a bit too. At the end, Sho and Jun tried to cover their chests, looking embarrassed.
Turns out those fireworks from last night that interrupted Nino's speech, might have been from the baseball field next door. They went off at a different time, during Love So Sweet tonight. Ohno pointed at them in surprise.
Then they went into their speeches before 5x10. I tried to write down what they said this time. Sho said it's been ten years and he thought recently they'd been shining. If he went back and had to do it again, he'd probably take the same path. Ohno was smiling tonight, saying ten years before I wasn't thinking of anything while working. Now the atmosphere is very warm. Aiba's voice got a little husky, saying for ten years with all of you, singing Arashi songs, through the sad and hard times, and with Arashi's great members, looking at everyone is happiness to him. Nino said "10 years? Is it short? Is it long? I don't know. I wasn't concerned, and somehow it's become 10 years." He wondered just what kind of Juniors they had been. They made it through all their tv shows, specials, and radio, with those five members. Jun asked "Our 10 years, how were they?" Through borrowing many people's power, with great members and great fans, from now on, to 11 and 12 years, he wants to make more good memories. He gave a big smile and bowed.
There were two encores again tonight. Because of all the water from the show, Sho was able to slid around on stage a little. Then Nino goofed around with the Juniors, pulling up one of their shirts halfway while he tried to keep dancing. Apparently his mic wasn't working for some of the time, cuz he pounded on it a little. Jun pointed out the clear sky and the half moon. (Very pretty) Then, Jun did his little "And we are..." but he stared at Nino tonight like he had no idea and Nino was whispering the answer back at him. We all yelled "Arashi" to finish. When they waved goodbye, Leader started jumping up and down as the stage was lowered into a pit. Nino and Aiba joined him. At the end, there was one last hand that popped up.
*sigh* It was great.
---> Our seats tonight
Well, it turns out, I may not be able to go to the concert tomorrow as the seller of my ticket fell threw. I haven't given up though. I'll be hunting around some more tonight and tomorrow. And if I have to, I'll just hang outside and listen with all the other fans who couldn't make it in. I'm a little sad, but still very satisfied. We'll see!
Thanks for all the fun comments!
